Hypnosis

Hypnosis has been around for thousands of years.

Hypnosis can help build confidence, change behaviour and get rid of fear, anxiety and phobias.

While you are in the hypnotic state, your mind is more open and more receptive to suggestion.  Don’t worry, all research has shown that while in the hypnotic state, you cannot be made to do anything against your moral values.

All of our habitual and behavior controlling thoughts hang around in our unconscious mind.  It is entirely possible that you are unaware of the thoughts and feelings that reside there.

It helps to imagine that there is a gate between your conscious and your unconscious mind.  Normally, the gate is closed until your brain waves slow down to a more relaxed level, like when you are asleep.  When the gate opens for short periods of time ideas, images and thoughts come out of your unconscious mind; these are your dreams.  When you are in a state of hypnosis, the gate also opens allowing helpful suggestions to go in.

When using hypnosis, I simply focus your attention so that you go into that natural, normal hypnotic state.  Once in a state of hypnosis, the gate opens and I can make suggestions to help.  There is no way to predict how long it will take to see change.  It depends partly on your motivation and commitment.
